How Payment Works

When a job request is submitted, you provide the budget you want the job completed on. Workers are notified and given access to the job details with your budget (exclusive of personal information). Workers will apply to the job based on these details, meaning they agree to the price you submit. You can only submit fixed prices through ONIT. No hourly rates. If under any circumstance the total price changes that is to be dealt with between the homeowner and the worker(s).

ONIT does not employ the workers and operates as a middle man connection service. Before you are connected ONIT charges a connection fee for this service. More information on how the fee is determined is further down on the page.

Payment:

  • Workers can be paid directly upon completion of the job in any agreed upon manner. Workers typically accept Cash, Venmo or Check.

  • ONIT will email you an invoice for the Connection Fee which is to be paid by card. This payment is due prior to getting connected with the worker(s). Learn more about the Connection Fee below.

Connection Fee

How the Connection Fee is Determined

The Connection Fee is determined after the job is submitted. The Fee will be shared with the homeowner along with the quotes from workers. Multiple factors affect the Connection Fee. See below.

Base Rate

Job Size

Demand

Time to Completion

The base rate is a flat fee for getting connected with workers and starts at $15. This may increase based on Job Size, Demand, Time to Completion, etc.

When a job request is larger and more complex, the Connection Fee may be increased.

When job types are in high demand and available workers are limited, this may increase the Connection Fee.

If short notice is given to get the job completed, the Connection Fee may be increased.

If the job is recurring (i.e. lawn mowing), the Connection Fee will be increased.
